Healing Modalities for Babies, Children, and Teens!
I have done Tui Na (Chinese Massage) and Acupressure for babies as young as 6 months old.
I have done acupuncture (1-3 hair thin needles) for children as young as 3 years old.
Only what the child is comfortable with. Never scary or forced!
Tui Na and Acupressure can help with digestion, immunity, breathing, allergies, urinary and bowel problems, helping injuries heal faster.
Acupuncture and the other modalities can help teenagers with stress, hormonal and emotional changes, physical issues and more.
Conveniently located across Hydraulic Road from Greer Elementary, Journey Middle, and Albemarle High Schools in Sachem Village!
Tui Na
Gentle massage techniques that is great alternative for young ones who are afraid of needles.
Essential Oils
I use Snow Lotus and Young Living brand oils. I choose them based upon Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and what lights up the child’s eyes. It is amazing what the right oil can do for emotions, mind and body. I diffuse them for inhalation, place on acupuncture points or use diluted on areas of the body.
Gua Sha
Gentle massage technique with a smooth edged tool over an oil to help improve circulation in the area and immune system.
Acupressure
Gentle pressure on acupuncture points works wonders for babies and children. Their bodies are so small and energy flowing easily, that they need a lot less help than adults.
Magnets and Seeds
Small magnets and seeds are placed on acupuncture points to provide gentle acupressure for days after treatment
Cupping
I use silicone and plastic cups on young ones. I offer traditional glass cups to teenagers and older.
Acupuncture
Yes, I do use very fine acupuncture needles on children, but only with comfort level. Sometimes they feel better after seeing me needle someone else. Some points do better with needles
Infrared Heat lamp
I use a small hand held infrared lamp on small areas that benefit from gentle warming. Can be helpful for many conditions including injuries, digestive problems, allergies and asthma.
